Silicon carbide graphite crucibles are suitable for a variety of applications, including melting non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper and zinc, as well as precious metals such as gold, silver and platinum. Crucibles are available in a variety of sizes to suit different products and are ideal for use in foundries, workshops and laboratories.

Before Using Crucible

 

This product should be stored in the normal temperature and drying situation. DAMP will affect the performance of the glaze layer and the crucibles service life, even will make the cracks appear and influence the final use. Keep the wooden case and anti-moisture bag packed well before your use.

1. The crucibles should be put on the pallets instead of the ground and stored in a dry place with good ventilation.

2. The crucibles should be carried on the special transport machine, so. Please don't roll the crucible directly.

3. Use the proper base to support the crucibles. Attention! The base should be with a bigger diameter than the crucibles' bottom and with the same material as the crucibles'.

4. Don't pack the crucibles too tightly

5. Allow the crucibles have enough expansion and extraction space.

6. Avoid high pressure on the crucibles' top

7. The furnace cover should not be pressed on the crucibles' top.

8. Make sure the furnace lining works well and repair it if there is damage,

9. Make sure the crucible and furnaces are concentric.

10. Don't throw or dropmetal ingot into the crucible is forbidden; use pincers to put the metal into crucible carefully.

11. Put the metal ingot into crucible vertically not horizontally; be sure there is some space between ingot and inside wall of crucible.

12. Check the burner position in order to ensure the flame is under the joint of crucible and base plate, flame cannot touch the crucible directly.

13. Be sure the tooling and fixture is fastness and prop the bottom always.

14. Don't add up refining agent into the crucible before the aluminum ingot melting is forbidden.

15. Clear up slag regularly using proper tool to protect inside wall of the crucible.

Preheating: in order to remove the moisture inside crucible, please preheat the crucible approaching to furnace 4-12 hours, or burning wood inside the crucible for 2 hours.

Make sure the drying time long enough in order to preheat and remove moisture, avoid cracks, make working service life longer
